Jane Burnett, Head of Housing, Melville Housing Association

Our staff found it insightful, informative, and thought‑provoking

“The domestic abuse training delivered by Debs and Kelly, based on the new SFHA (Scottish Federation of Housing) DA Toolkit, was excellent. Our staff found it insightful, informative, and thought‑provoking, with practical tips we can apply in our work. The session also provided valuable information that will support us in updating our policy, making it an especially meaningful and timely piece of training.”

Pauline Fletcher, Director of Housing and Communities, Southside Housing Association

“They were so good that we invited them back for another session!”

“Southside Housing Association had recently signed up to the Chartered Institute of Housing’s ‘Make a Stand’ pledge.  As part of achieving the key parts of the pledge we invited Debs and Kelly from Addressing Domestic Abuse to provide training to staff across the organisation.  Their knowledge and passion around how housing associations can tackle domestic abuse was outstanding and the sessions were really engaging and practical for staff.   They were so good that we invited them back for another session!”

Darren Burton, Partner, Green and Burton ASB

I have worked collaboratively with Kelly for many years and would not hesitate to recommend her to other organisations“.

“Kelly is a leading national voice and undoubtedly our go-to person when it comes to investigating Domestic Abuse issues within the ASB case management process.

Kelly is highly respected within the Social Housing and Community Safety Sectors. She has a proven ability to combine operational and strategic expertise with academic research in order to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse in communities throughout the UK and achieve positive outcomes for victims / survivors. This includes building trust between victim / survivors and frontline practitioners and giving them the confidence to come forward and provide evidence in extremely complex situations.

People enjoy working with Kelly therefore she is able to facilitate effective partnerships between a range of different agencies such as the Police, Local Authorities and Voluntary Groups. She has developed numerous Domestic Abuse polices for organisations of contrasting size to enable them to promote best practice, get things right from the start and demonstrate compliance from a regulatory perspective”.

Michelle Meldrum, Chief Executive, Berwickshire Housing Association

I would highly recommend Kelly to support your organisation with any aspect of domestic abuse, in particular policy development, training or as a critical friend”.

BHA work with other social landlords across the Scottish Borders to improve our approach to domestic abuse. The other social landlords are Scottish Borders, Eildon and Waverley. Together the four organisations are known as the Borders Housing Network (BHN).

BHN have recently been supported by Kelly Henderson at Addressing Domestic Abuse (ADA) to develop an improvement plan and execute the actions within it. Kelly’s background, experience and knowledge of the domestic abuse agenda has been invaluable to our work. Kelly understands the key role that social landlords can play across the domestic abuse agenda and has ensured all relevant statute; policy principles and positive practice has been considered as part of developing our approach”.
