The training is aimed at staff in housing providers and helps them understand, recognise and respond to domestic abuse in their day-to-day work. Housing professionals have a crucial role in recognising domestic abuse through things like repairs, rent arrears, noise nuisance and anti-social behaviour. The Regulator of Social Housing sets out regulatory requirements for housing providers and as part of its Neighbourhood and Community Consumer Standard states that housing providers must have a domestic abuse policy and work cooperatively around domestic abuse. This session is an ideal course to ensure housing professionals are up to date on understanding domestic abuse and ensuring they understand the regulatory framework in relation to it.
