Research around gambling-related domestic abuse
We are a team undertaking research about gambling-related domestic abuse and its implications for housing security. The project is led by Dr. Mercy Denedo (Durham University) in partnership with Professor Amanze Ejiogu (Sheffield Hallam University), Dr Chibuzo Ejiogu (Cranfield University), Dr Katy Brookfield (Nottingham University), Dr Kelly Henderson (Addressing Domestic Abuse) and Dr Liz Riley (Betknowmore UK). The project is funded by the Gambling Commission through a regulatory settlement.
The Research will be published in November 2025 with outputs from the research to be included in a toolkit for social housing providers, podcasts, animations, and policy papers. We will be adding these outputs to this website when they are released.
